Leading figures from continuing education institutions, the academic world, business, society and politics will meet for two days at the 12th German Adult Education Conference to discuss crucial policy issues of Lifelong Learning. We expect some 1200 guests from around 20 European countries and are particularly pleased to be able to welcome the President of Germany. Adult Education Conferences have been held every five years since 1956. They are among the largest conferences on continuing education in Europe.

Learn something new – shape the future – bring people together

This is the motto beneath which we aim to

  • develop visions of the future for continuing education and debate new ideas,
  • present a profile of what the Volkshochschulen (adult education centres) can do to promote an integrated society of equal opportunity,
  • strengthen continuing education as an equal and integral part of Lifelong Learning
  • and press for appropriate political and financial arrangements for continuing education in Germany and Europe.

Organizer: German Adult Education Association (DVV)
Location: Berlin Congress Center (bcc) at Alexanderplatz
