Prof. Dr. Angelika Zahrnt is an economist, Honorary Chairman of BUND, a member of the Council for Sustainable Development and was a recipient of the German Environment Prize (2009). She was the initiator of the study Sustainable Germany in 1996 and 2008, and editor of the book Post-Growth Society published in 2010.
She says: Adult Education schools are helpful and rewarding, from everyday issues to questions about the future - and they can trigger individual and social change. Many local Agenda 21 processes were started in Adult Education schools; and I hope that the global sustainability conference Rio 20plus, which takes place in 2012, will come to life locally and in Adult Education schools.
